GEP Project Management System

These documents are walkthroughs that illustrate key functionalities of the GEP Project Management System.

  • Basic Usage

This document describes basic navigation and options available in the GEP Project Management System.

  • Claiming Projects

A walkthrough that illustrates how faculty members can claim GEP finishing and annotation projects.

  • Order Reactions

A user guide to managing finishing reaction orders, this document describes the steps required for ordering reactions and for incorporating new reads into a genome assembly.

  • Submit Finishing Projects

A document describing the steps required for submitting finishing projects to the GEP

  • Submit Annotation Projects

This document is a guide to submitting annotation projects to the GEP.

Guide to Other GEP Tools

  • Gene Model Checker User Guide

A user guide for the 08/14/2011 release of the GEP Gene Checker. The Gene Model Checker can be used to verify gene models and to create the files required for project submission.

  • Gene Record Finder User Guide

A user guide for the 1.1 release of the GEP Gene Record Finder. The Gene Record Finder can be used to identify all the unique exons for all the isoforms of a given gene in D. melanogaster.

  • BLAST Output Viewer Generator User Guide

A user guide for the Prototype release of the GEP BLAST Output Viewer Generator. The BLAST Output Viewer can create a graphical viewer from NCBI BLAST output and can be used to complex BLAST results.

  • Small Exon Finder User Guide

A user guide for the Prototype release of the Small Exon Finder. This program can be used to identify open reading frames that have a specific size and satisfy a set of biological constraints (e.g. phase of donor and acceptor sites).
